Black Metal gods Katharsis return in full rotten splendour with a 45 minutes long recording. While the song-writing retains the main ill characteristics of previous full-length VVORLDVVITHOUTEND, the extensive song structures operate as hypnotizing and lethal labyrinths, the murderous and brutal riffing is enhanced by a frontal opposition with a rare and genuine mastery of sheer black magic atmospheres. Out on the 18th of May.

“Evangelion combines a pure art form with a direct message. It was also important for us to ensure that the graphical presentation did justice to the record. Again, we have worked with Tomasz Danilowicz who has created his best illustration yet for Behemoth. The picture is of The Great Harlot of Babylon riding the seven-headed beast. Saints bow before her in worship whilst the tablets of the Ten Commandments lie broken at her feet. It represents our vision and the interpretation of the New Testament parable where the “Whore of Babylon” is a symbol of rebellion and resistance against God. I am fascinated by stories whose source lies in the Bible and we have used biblical symbolism, coupled with my own experience and outlook, in our lyrics or on the covers of previous Behemoth records. I love to juggle with meanings and play around with symbolism which is exactly what I have done in this case. The main character of our new cover is an archetype of disobedience, individualism, self-determination and a free, unfettered will – these are universal keywords which are typical and crucial in understanding the character of our works, life as a whole and the true nature of man.” Commented Nergal.

I’ve decided to put my website to sleep, at least for some time. I’m currently trying to save money for an upcoming move to Australia with my fiance, so I haven’t renewed my subscription for it and won’t do it either. Since I’m not a professional photographer and at the moment not doing that much photography, I will probably get a free account at Flickr or something like that instead, or just post them here now and then. I’ll get back on that.

My chords are worn out and I can hardly speak but at the same time I’m sooo happy and satisfied with the way it turned out this time. I think there was something missing in my vocal performance on the previous record, “The Apostasy”. With “Evangelion” I made sure it doesn’t sound just brutal…songs are more diverse and so are my vocals. There’s definitely more emotions and expression in it. You’ll be surprised!”

And I’ve read on the net (but I don’t have it confirmed yet) that Behemoth is coming to Sweden in November. If this is true, that is totally fucking awesome! I’ll get back on that as soon as I have this confirmed in some way.
